We feel very lucky that we had the chance to hire Auntie Zhou. During my postpartum confinement, she took great care of both me and the baby, and even my husband ate very well too. She got along with us like family.
First of all, Auntie Zhou is highly professional and very experienced. She could clearly tell what the baby needed—whether the baby was hungry or needed a diaper change, for example—which was a huge help for us as first-time parents. In particular, when our baby started having gas around 15 days old, Auntie Zhou handled it very well by feeding smaller amounts more frequently, doing gas-relief exercises, tummy time, and so on, which kept the baby from becoming too uncomfortable. She also helped us scientifically control the baby’s milk intake and gradually increase it, and the baby grew very well. She also recommended many useful mother-and-baby products to me, and they were all especially helpful.
Auntie Zhou has a cheerful personality, communicates well, and is very proactive. Her personal views also keep up with the times. For example, she immediately reported when the baby’s spit-up color looked abnormal instead of hiding it, which helped us respond in time. Although she is the professional when it comes to caring for babies, she was also willing to follow our wishes and arrangements, and when there were differences in opinion, she would prioritize our preferences. At the same time, most of the advice she gave was very scientific and effective, and she also helped us learn a lot about childcare. After spending time together, we trusted Auntie Zhou very much and felt completely at ease leaving the baby in her care.
In addition, Auntie Zhou paid great attention to personal hygiene. She showered every day and washed her hands before holding the baby, which made both me and my husband feel very reassured. She was also thoughtful about keeping her washing-up time short so she could return to the baby as quickly as possible and ensure the baby’s safety. When time allowed, she also helped with housework, cleaning the home, and so on. She helped organize all kinds of household items, and everything was neat and tidy.
As for caring for the mother, the meals Auntie Zhou cooked were very delicious and beautifully plated, with a balanced mix of meat and vegetables every day plus fruit prepared as well. What helped me the most was her extensive experience with breastfeeding. When I came home from the hospital, Auntie Zhou helped me get my milk in, and it worked on the first try. She taught me to eat more and sleep more, and my milk supply steadily increased, so I didn’t have to feel so anxious. When I had issues like clogged ducts, Auntie Zhou also helped massage and relieve them, solving the problem, and I was very grateful for her help.
The baby slept with Auntie Zhou at night, so I was able to rest well, and as a result I also recovered well during my confinement period.
Overall, Auntie Zhou has great energy. She not only took care of the baby and the mother, but when conditions allowed, she also looked after many other aspects of the household. We highly recommend Auntie Zhou, and if we have a second baby in the future, we would definitely hire her again!
