Thank you to my amazing postpartum nanny, Sister Vivi.
“Professional, patient, meticulous, kind” — you deserve every beautiful word. 🌹🌹🌹
My postpartum nanny will finish her stay tomorrow, and just thinking about it makes me feel a little anxious. I’m truly so grateful for the care Vivi gave me during this period, which allowed me to get through the most stressful time after being discharged from the hospital with peace of mind and ease, and also helped me smoothly adapt to my new role as a first-time mom. 💖
I still remember the day I came home from the hospital. The very first time I saw Vivi, she immediately made me feel very comfortable and at ease. I was hospitalized unexpectedly due to preterm labor, and the room at home, the crib, and the baby supplies had not been set up in advance. But after Vivi started working with us, she helped us organize everything in just a few hours, which made me feel extremely reassured and touched. As we spent more time together, Vivi’s personality made our whole family feel very comfortable. Her childcare knowledge is extremely strong 👍 and took us from being completely clueless at the beginning to fully trusting her later on. Whether it was breastfeeding, preparing formula, burping, bathing, or soothing the baby to sleep, she did everything with great skill. The baby was especially calm in her arms. She carefully observed the baby’s condition and patiently stayed with the baby. She was truly very attentive in every single step.
Vivi not only took great care of the baby, but her care and concern for me also deeply moved me. She carefully prepared every meal. Although postpartum meals are light, they were still delicious, and every day I could drink the postpartum recovery water she cooked according to each stage of recovery. She understood how difficult the postpartum period was for me, patiently comforted me about my worries over low milk supply, helped massage and relieve blockages, and cooked all kinds of soups to promote milk production 🥣, which helped me achieve exclusive breastfeeding.
What was most precious of all was that I could truly feel her sincere love for the baby. Vivi genuinely loves children. She taught me and my family how to properly care for the baby, patiently teaching us how to hold the baby, how to pace bottle-feeding to prevent choking, how to change diapers, how to burp the baby, and even taught me in advance how to ease the fussiness that can happen in the second month. She also told me that if I have any questions in the future, I can always ask her. Sometimes I even felt that she was more worried than I was about whether the family would be able to take proper care of the baby. That sense of responsibility and love made me deeply admire her.
Thank you for accompanying us like family for these 42 days. I sincerely wish Sister Vivi good health, that everything goes smoothly for her, and that she can be happy and joyful every day! 💗💗💗
