First, falsifying the amount of milk fed.
One day before I went out, I clearly told the nanny to feed the baby 120 ml of milk, and the formula machine at home had already been set to 120 ml. She only needed to press once and it would dispense 120 ml of milk directly. But because she wanted to save effort and found feeding troublesome, she poured out half of the already prepared milk and actually fed the baby only about 60 ml, yet lied to me and said she had fed 120 ml. I have surveillance video to prove this process.
Second, seriously improper nighttime care.
Today the baby was obviously listless. After checking the surveillance footage, I found that after the baby woke up around 4 or 5 a.m., the nanny did not seriously soothe the baby back to sleep, but instead held the baby while using her phone and even recorded videos of the baby. During the recording, the phone flash was triggered, and the strong light shone directly into the baby’s eyes. For someone caring for an infant, this behavior is very unprofessional, and it makes me very worried about the baby’s eyes and physical condition.
Third, not respecting the parents’ childcare approach and changing the baby’s sleep habits on her own.
Our baby was originally able to fall asleep independently. As long as we followed the fixed routine—turning on white noise and letting the baby hold a small dog comfort object—the baby could usually fall asleep on their own. But the nanny sometimes forgot or did not follow this routine, causing the baby to wake up very soon. She also said she was trying to help the baby get rid of these “bad habits.” First of all, I do not think white noise and a comfort object are bad habits; secondly, even if she thought adjustments were needed, she should have first informed us and obtained the parents’ consent, rather than changing the sleep method the baby had already adapted to on her own. In many matters, she did not respect my thoughts and requirements.
Fourth, overall care was not careful enough.
In addition to the specific incidents above, the nanny was generally not careful enough while caring for the baby and did not pay enough attention to the baby’s condition, schedule, and needs. The baby is still very young and needs patient, careful, and responsible care, but her performance made me unable to feel at ease leaving my child with her.
Fifth, integrity and fee issues.
The nanny did not work the agreed number of days, but currently is unwilling to refund the corresponding fees. Combined with her concealment and deception regarding the feeding issue, I believe this is not only work negligence, but also involves basic integrity.
