My husband and I decided to hire Melody when I was 8 months pregnant. We were feeling nervous about how life with a newborn and lack of sleep would impact our mental health. I met Melody at an event for Doula's and pregnant women to meet. We scheduled an interview for her to come over, and she was incredibly professional. She was very clear about what she offers, and the terms of her contract. Being a mother herself, I felt more confident in being able to trust her with my newborn baby. After a very traumatic unplanned cesarean, Melody was there to help. She heated up soups for me and brought them to me in bed. She refilled my water bottle. She brought my baby to me to nurse and rubbed my feet while he ate. She would then change him and rock him to bed so that my husband and I could get some sleep. While we were all asleep she would do our laundry and our dishes, along with other tidying along the way. Melody went above and beyond to make my postpartum transition as smooth as possible. She helped me figure out pumping, and even brought over a nipple ruler to help me figure out my proper flange size. There are so many scary and confusing things about being a new mom, but Melody made it seem manageable. I loved her encouraging words and additional support she provided throughout the process. If you are looking for a doula that will go the extra mile for you and your family, I cannot recommend Melody Sainvil enough. She is an angel to our family, and I'm sure she will be a critical addition to your postpartum experience.
