Hi, I’m Marie, a postpartum doula on the Boston Area Doulas team. I have always been drawn to babies. I love everything about them. I was always the person in my family that would be found holding the babies at gatherings and holidays. For the past 32 years, I have been an esthetician and for the past 14 years an esthetics instructor as well. I consider myself a healer and I use energy work in my practice. As a professional postpartum doula, I have been fortunate enough to be able to combine my passion for babies with my abilities as a healer. I use a combination of love, energy work, and baby massage to soothe and comfort babies in their first few month of adjusting to their new surroundings. I get great pleasure and satisfaction from caring and nurturing the babies, as well as helping and supporting the parents. As the mother of two children, all grown up now, I know what sleep deprivation can do to new parents and how important it is to have an occasional good nights sleep and recharge! I have been married to my husband Martin for over 30 years. We have two wonderful and successful children, Marty and Hannah, and our first grandchild Luke! We were blessed with an amazing daughter-in-law when Marty married his love, Kelsey. We also have three rescue dogs (who think they are children) and we foster dogs when we can. My advice to parents of infants: Don’t get so caught up in everyone else’s story. Enjoy your own journey. Everyone is different. Yes, it can be overwhelming, but focus on the process and the positive. We are here to help you and support you. When I'm not doula-ing, I also enjoy reading and the ocean. Marie was an essential part of our baby's first six months. She helped us in so many ways from the hands-on tasks of those early days to the emotional support, especially in the quiet hours of the morning when I needed it the most. She's kind, reliable and very patient. Because of Marie, we were able to survive those early months and enjoy the special moments.

We don't know how we would have coped with the post-birth complications that arose without Marie's help. She empathized and validated our experiences as individuals and as a newly expanded family. Her expertise and quiet confidence was reassuring as we found our footing being first time parents. Our only regret was not scheduling more time with Marie ??

We knew from the moment we first met Marie over Zoom when we were looking for doulas during our pregnancy to help care for our newborn that we wanted to work with her! You can tell from just one conversation with her that she is so kind and loves what she does. We were so thankful that we decided to hire Marie when we were in the newborn trenches - overnight support was a godsend for us and we looked forward to every single one of her visits! We were also able to take a newborn care class with Marie which was helpful to make us feel more prepared. Cannot recommend her enough!

Marie was very confident in her abilities and really proactive and loving with our newborn son, which gave us a lot of confidence. When he wasn't feeling well, she would check-in even on days when she wasn't helping us later that night. She followed our feeding and sleeping instructions super quickly and well, and gave us advice that supported his sleep habits too! Couldn't recommend her highly enough.

Marie came just the right time. I was experiencing some postpartum medical and health challenges, and she was able to quickly come in, put us at ease and make sure that our little baby girl was completely taken care of in her care overnight.  She also provided so much additional support and feedback and guidance on things that I had questions on as a new mother. She made the entire first three months of being a new mother enjoyable due to her care support and we would not have had the experience we did without her. Thank you, Marie for everything!

Marie has been the most wonderful caregiver for our baby and I can't recommend her enough! This is our first child and it's hard to find someone that will make you feel more comfortable watching your baby than Marie. You can tell that she really cares and loves all the babies that she takes care of and the babies love her right back. She is helpful, loving and has tons of experience so she is a great resource for new parents.
