Oh, where to begin with Melissa. I can’t thank her enough for being such a wonderful balance of emotional support and practical help. This was my second baby but I learned SO much from her about the physiology of birth. I went from scared and confused to empowered and excited about my labor this time. She is sweet, down to earth, responsive, and so good at what she does. She is open to any type of birth you want to have and fully supportive of it. If you’re trying to decide whether to hire her: do it!!

Words cannot express how grateful I am for what Melissa did for my husband and I throughout the pregnancy and labor process. She meets with you to make sure you understand terms and procedures that may happen during appointments and the hospital visit. Some things we never even knew about so having her knowledge was so valuable to us. She also walked through labor and birthing positions. Melissa supported my wants to try and deliver twins naturally at a hospital. Unfortunately, my girls were not positioned right to go forward with that and c section was my only option. Melissa was right there with a listening ear as I grieved the loss of delivery and prepared for the surgery. Afterwards, sharing the joy of birth with her was like having another family member in the room with me. I had major blood loss and clots that the room had to be swormed with doctors pressing down on my belly. Melissa was right there comforting me. I honestly don't think I could've made through that the way I did without her calming spirit. She is apart of my birth story and I strongly recommend her apart of anyone else's birth story too.

This is my second time working with Melissa for a pregnancy and delivery. We have loved having her! Even with choosing to have medicated deliveries, Melissa has been so valuable during labor/delivery. She very thoroughly goes through birth education and prenatal visits detailing out a birth plan to align with your goals to better advocate during your delivery. Having someone by your side throughout the delivery is so helpful when the rest of your birth team has multiple patients to attend to. Especially with choosing an epidural, it is helpful to have someone advocating for and supporting as much movement as possible to help move labor along or troubleshoot any challenges that may arise. Melissa is very knowledgeable about pregnancy and birth and is always willing to help talk through any concerns or questions as they come up.

Melissa was an amazing support throughout pregnancy and during labor/birth! We met with her 2 times prior to my due date to go over my birth plan and positions to keep labor progressing which helped me feel more prepared. I felt comfortable with her and she was so encouraging throughout labor. She was able to refer me to prenatal and postpartum resources. Melissa is a great support to have in your corner!
