Before my first baby, I was incredibly anxious about labor. From the moment we hired Sarah, she made such a difference. She was always thoughtful, checked in with me throughout my pregnancy and postpartum, and patiently answered every question my husband and I had. She helped me prepare for labor by explaining what to expect, which gave me so much more confidence going into the experience. Our birth ended up being far from what we expected. I had a 53-hour labor, and to make things even more challenging, my husband came down with the flu the day before I went into labor. Sarah truly became my lifeline. She coached me through the early stages of labor while I was at home, and when my contractions became closer together, she helped me labor at home for much longer than I could have on my own because my husband simply wasn't able to support me physically. Once we got to the hospital, Sarah stayed by my side through the rest of my labor, including three hours of pushing. Her calm presence, encouragement, and expertise helped me through the hardest moments. Looking back, I honestly don't know what we would have done without her, especially with my husband being so sick. If you're considering hiring a doula, I cannot recommend Sarah enough. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, dependable, and truly cares about the families she serves. She made me feel supported every step of the way, and I will always be grateful for the role she played in bringing our daughter safely into the world.
