Tia was absolutely amazing during my pregnancy and birth. Hiring her as my doula was one of the best decisions I made during my journey of becoming a mom of 3. She supported every decision I made and helped give me the tools I needed to make those informed decisions. Her warmth and kindness made me feel heard and understood, which was crucial to me for this birth. I just wish I had her for my other 2 births. I will recommend her to every mom I know.

At the beginning of my pregnancy, I didn’t even know what a doula was. Even though all my friends had experienced childbirth, they couldn’t advise me on what I was about to encounter. Through some luck and a little research, I was paired with Tia Ajao. Tia led me through making a birth plan and was there for every step of the way. She was patient with me in the sleepless nights of the third trimester, while instead of sleeping I was emailing her questions. She made it her her mission to educate me and set me at ease. She met my husband and I for my induction on a Tuesday. Little did we know that it would still not be until Friday that our little lady would arrive. The only time Tia left my side was when she had a class she couldn’t miss. Even then she provided a backup.  When the birth plan wasn’t going as I expected, my husband and I elected for a C-section. It was through Tia’s education, support, and advocacy that we arrived at that decision. I felt so empowered during a time when my body was so fatigued due to labor exhaustion and lack of food and sleep. Tia even was there for the fourth trimester of being home alone with baby. She made my birth experience amazing.  I later found out that during all the support and being there for me Tia was balancing nursing school, being mother, wife, and having a job. I highly recommend Tia to anyone who wants the education and support of a doula. I can’t remember the nurses, doctors, or midwives that were shuffled though my hospital door, but I can say I remember my doula, Tia Ajao. I will never forget her.

Hello, I am Roxelle Frans. I first had the pleasure of meeting Tia Ajao when she was my doula in 2014. I was pregnant just months after suffering a miscarriage which caused a level of fear, I didn’t know I had.Having Tia as my doula was a God sent. Tia exceeded all our expectations and she was a true professional. Prior to the delivery day Tia checked in on me almost every day. By the time my baby was ready to enter this world on May 15, 2014 I was a lot more at ease than I was prior to having Tia in my life.During the delivery of my little one I had high blood pressure which could have led to a C-section. In a matter of minutes Tia arrived and remained until after the birth. Prior to my husband and best friend’s arrival at the hospital I was accompanied by my sister and cousin. In the beginning their presence was not beneficial to me or my baby's health. They mistook the day as an opportunity to use my ears as a way of expressing their frustration with one another.Tia honored my need for peace and quiet by requesting those individuals to take a break and leave the room for a few minutes. That short moment of peace quickly allowed my blood pressure to be lowered and my baby to be out of harm's way. Tia's presence was very calming, and she was extremely helpful. She was there as a support to my every need. Tia exceeded anything I could have asked for. She sang to me, fed me ice chips, rubbed my feet, adjusted me and held my hands. Somehow, she was able to do all of that without over stepping or taking away from my husband, best friend, sister and cousins experience of the delivery.Tia visited me in the hospital the next day with a diaper bag filled with goodies for the baby and I. Most of the items were helpful during the babies first few weeks and some I keep as keepsake of our time together.I learned the breathing technique from Tia. I use it regularly to help me relax during stressful situations.
