We were very fortunate to meet Auntie Ding during the life stage when we welcomed our first baby. As first-time parents, the anxiety and uncertainty of becoming parents for the first time were greatly eased on the very first day Auntie Ding joined our family. Her words, “Leave the baby to me. Don’t worry. Get some good rest,” truly made us feel incredibly at ease throughout these three months.
Whether it was her professional and meticulous baby care, her attentive care for me as the mother, her healthy and delicious confinement meals that were on par with a private chef’s, or her gentle and thoughtful communication style that helped resolve occasional childcare disagreements between two generations, all of it allowed me, during the three months after giving birth, to transition into this new stage of life with more composure and peace of mind.
When it came to baby care, Auntie Ding was experienced, careful, and professional. Whether it was feeding, daily care, soothing the baby to sleep, or infant massage, she was very skilled, and she would also flexibly adjust the routine based on the baby’s condition each day. At the same time, she was especially supportive of and actively cooperated with my goal of breastfeeding, and with her encouragement and help, the baby was ultimately able to switch freely between direct breastfeeding and bottle-feeding. For first-time parents, Auntie Ding was not only caring for the baby, but also using her experience to help us build confidence, so that we could accompany our baby’s growth day by day with a more relaxed and reassured mindset.
In caring for me as the mother, Auntie Ding’s thoughtfulness showed in every little detail of daily life. The confinement meals she made were nutritionally balanced and very delicious, truly at a private-chef level, and she would also thoughtfully prepare all kinds of healthy snacks, making every meal something to look forward to. In addition to her careful attention to my diet, she also paid great attention to the details of postpartum recovery, from daily wellness routines such as herbal health tea and foot soaks, to helping me stimulate milk production and relieve several severe episodes of clogged milk ducts during breastfeeding. Her professional massage techniques gave me a great deal of help and improvement.
Even more rare was that Auntie Ding had an optimistic and open-minded personality, stable emotions, and a great deal of wisdom. When family members occasionally had different childcare philosophies, she was always able to communicate and coordinate in a gentle and skillful way, taking everyone’s feelings into account while also reducing the pressure and burden on me as a new mother.
I am deeply grateful for Auntie Ding’s attentive companionship and care over these three months. Her professionalism, patience, meticulousness, and sense of responsibility made what could have been a very challenging postpartum recovery period feel easier and warmer. Being able to meet such an excellent and reassuring maternity nanny is truly a very fortunate thing, and I sincerely and strongly recommend her to every new family.
