We relied on Caiyun for 4 months as a Chinese postpartum (confinement) and newborn care specialist, and we cannot express enough how grateful we are for her presence during this important chapter of our lives. From day one, it felt like she became part of our family and treated us like family, too.
Our son arrived weeks early, and Caiyun responded immediately with warmth, care, and action. Within hours of hearing the news, she tapped into her network to help us secure interim support and generously moved up her start date to accommodate us. That early gesture set the tone for her entire time with us — proactive, dependable, and incredibly thoughtful.
Caiyun brings deep expertise and a calm, confident energy that helped us feel reassured as first-time parents. Her newborn care knowledge is outstanding: from diapering, bathing, and feeding to recognizing early signs of eczema and diaper rash and recommending effective remedies. She’s attentive to every detail, and her communication is always clear, respectful, and thoughtful.
She also guided us through each stage of our son’s development, suggesting age-appropriate activities and talking us through each milestone — as well as what to expect next. Her insights helped us feel more informed, confident, and connected as new parents.
What stood out just as much was her care for the whole family. As a mom in recovery, I felt truly cared for — especially in the early postpartum weeks. Every morning, she brought breakfast to bed, putting incredible thought into each meal — using color, variety, and nutrient-rich ingredients to support healing while also brightening the day. She prepared nutritious meals, drew foot baths, shared helpful postpartum tips, and even guided me through gentle exercises to rebuild my strength. She’s a true self-starter, always looking for ways to help without needing to be asked, whether it’s supporting baby, tidying up, or anticipating family needs.
Caiyun is also incredibly warm and joyful with our baby. She knows countless songs and rhymes, and we loved hearing her laugh and sing with him throughout the day. We often caught her laughing and chatting away with him — her love for babies is so genuine and heartwarming. With her help, we were able to fully relax and trust that our son was in great hands, which gave us the confidence to step out for dinner dates and run errands without worry.
As we search for long-term baby-care, we realize how rare it is to find someone with her level of skill, heart, and professionalism. She’s clean, respectful, loving, and brings her whole self to the work she does. We feel so lucky to have had her during these first months — and though we’ll miss her deeply, we know the next family she joins will be just as lucky. As one final act of kindness before leaving, she even prepared and froze some dumplings so we could continue to enjoy her cooking after she’s gone — a perfect example of her thoughtfulness and care.
